RMT for Scoliosis

The ScoliClinic offers Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) for our clients who have scoliosis or other spinal conditions. As people with scoliosis often experience fascial restrictions, muscular tension, and stiff joints, manual treatment from a Registered Massage Therapist can decrease fascial resistance, to assist clients to achieve their postural corrections with less effort.

Our RMTs collaborate with our Schroth-trained Physiotherapists to provide curve-specific massage treatments. Each client’s X-Ray images (if available) and clinical notes from the Physiotherapist are taken into account when planning the massage sessions to address any muscular imbalances in the trunk, shoulders, pelvis, or beyond.

At the end of each massage session, clients complete Schroth exercises, core activations, or other strengthening exercises to set the musculature in their newfound lengths.
