Scoliosis-Friendly Mat Pilates
Interested in trying Pilates, but unsure of how it will affect your spine? The ScoliClinic is now offering scoliosis-friendly mat pilates classes! Please note, during COVID times, we’ve shifted our in-person classes to running virtually only.
Created by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s, Pilates offers plenty of benefits to your body, regardless of your fitness background.
At The ScoliClinic, the Pilates exercises, cues, and props are thoughtfully selected to follow scoliosis-specific physiotherapy principles based on the biomechanics of scoliosis.
The classes will provide a medium for building upon what you have learned through your Physio program, incorporating small Pilates equipment such as toning and stability balls, foam rollers, fitness circles, and therabands. You’ll improve your overall strength, posture, flexibility and get one heck of a core workout.
- Single Virtual Class – $7.50 CAD + GST
- Virtual 4-Class Pack – $20.00 CAD + GST
Virtually (currently pausing in-person classes during COVID times), times effective March 15, 2021:
Wednesdays: 7:30pm – 8:30pm Pacific Daylight Time
Fridays: 5pm – 6pm Pacific Daylight Time
Participants outside of Canada are also encouraged to join!
Pilates classes are not eligible for reimbursement through extended benefits.
