Scoliosis-Friendly Mat Pilates
Interested in trying Pilates, but unsure of how it will affect your spine? The ScoliClinic is now offering virtual scoliosis-friendly mat pilates classes!
Created by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s, Pilates offers plenty of benefits to your body, regardless of your fitness background.
At The ScoliClinic, the Pilates exercises, cues, and props are thoughtfully selected to follow scoliosis-specific physiotherapy principles based on the biomechanics of scoliosis.
The classes will provide a medium for building upon what you have learned through your Physio program, incorporating small Pilates equipment such as toning and stability balls, foam rollers, fitness circles, and therabands. You’ll improve your overall strength, posture, flexibility and get one heck of a core workout.
- Single Virtual Class – $10.00 CAD
- Virtual 10-Class Pack – $75.00 CAD
Mondays (Level 2): 7:30pm – 8:30pm Pacific Time (Vancouver, BC)
Tuesdays (Level 1): 5:30pm – 6:30pm Pacific Time (Vancouver, BC)
All participants who register and pay for a class will receive a link to the class recording that is accessible for 1 week following that live class.
Participants outside of Canada are also encouraged to join!
Pilates classes are not eligible for reimbursement through extended benefits.
