While working as a general pediatric physiotherapist, I listened to Andrea present on scoliosis and my curiosity about scoliosis-specific exercises and The ScoliClinic began. I quickly decided to pursue my Schroth certification, and began my working at The ScoliClinic in November 2016.
The ScoliClinic has inspired me to continue learning for life. Since starting with the company, I’ve felt fully supported to take multiple courses to enhance my understanding of the skeletal system as it pertains to scoliosis.
After my first year, I was invited to be a teaching assistant at several workshops put on by The ScoliClinic and it became clear to me that I thrived while teaching. Last fall, Andrea and I developed a role that would highlight my strengths and enable me to grow within The ScoliClinic. Now, I’ve been able to design a week that works for me – part-time treating clients, and part-time focused on tasks as Skills Development Coordinator. This role supports my desire to teach and has advanced my involvement in the clinic. The most exciting part? There’s even more opportunity for growth in this position as the clinic continues to evolve.
